Debunking Cholesterol Myths

Waking Times

When a big, fat lie built around such a sensitive and health threatening issue becomes way too widespread, that even the authors start to believe it, it is really hard to turn the tide without major consequences.

We live in a time where we have GMO producers who won’t touch their food, but eat only organic instead, vaccine promoters and producers who won’t vaccinate their own kids or themselves, and of course, cholesterol lowering medication producers and promoters who won’t take their statins or give them to their family. It makes you wonder, doesn’t it?

So what kind of cholesterol “myths” has the population been fed all this time through heavy marketing? Let’s take a look!

Welsh Measles Epidemic Was Faked

The Great Measles Epidemic of Wales—the one that’s being used to stampede sheeple into vaccine clinics for the MMR jab—never happened. Seriously! It was faked. The actual data from the Welsh government on cases of measles proves it.

The Proven Dangers of Microwave Ovens

In short, microwaves distort the molecular structure of the foods. They destroy much of the nutrients and cause many other problems with the immune system over a period of time. If you love your family read this and take the extra couple of minutes to heat the food up the right way.

Radiation Ovens

The Proven Dangers of Microwaves

Is it possible that millions of people are ignorantly sacrificing their health in exchange for the convenience of microwave ovens? Why did the Soviet Union ban the use of microwave ovens in 1976? Who invented microwave ovens, and why? The answers to these questions may shock you into throwing your microwave oven in the trash.

Over 90% of American homes have microwave ovens used for meal preparation. Because microwave ovens are so convenient and energy efficient, as compared to conventional ovens, very few homes or restaurants are without them. In general, people believe that whatever a microwave oven does to foods cooked in it doesn’t have any negative effect on either the food or them. Of course, if microwave ovens were really harmful, our government would never allow them on the market, would they? Would they? Regardless of what has been “officially” released concerning microwave ovens, we have personally stopped using ours based on the research facts outlined in this article.

The purpose of this report is to show proof – evidence – that microwave cooking is not natural, nor healthy, and is far more dangerous to the human body than anyone could imagine. However, the microwave oven manufacturers, Washington City politics, and plain old human nature are suppressing the facts and evidence. Because of this, people are continuing to microwave their food – in blissful ignorance – without knowing the effects and danger of doing so.

7 Adaptogen Herbs to Lower Cortisol

It’s likely that you’ve heard about the detrimental effects of the stress hormone cortisol. Elevated cortisol levels can affect every physiological system in your body including your thyroid and adrenal glands. It can make you anxious and irritable, lead to weight gain and bone loss, contribute to diabetes and heart disease risk, and deplete your energy levels.

Cortisol is also known as the aging hormone.  When cortisol gets too high it puts you into a “fight or flight” response which stimulates your sympathetic nervous system and your adrenal glands.  When this occurs there is a decrease in your digestive secretions and a increase in blood pressure.  This puts your body in a state of constant stress which will burn out your adrenal glands, stress your digestive tract, and cause you to age more rapidly.  So if you want to look younger, feel younger, and be healthy you must get your cortisol levels balanced. 10 Reasons Why Store Deodorant STINKS!

If you are eating a wholesome, healthy diet and are still using underarm deodorant from the store, it’s time to wake up and smell the roses.

Store deodorant is loaded with chemicals and toxins that easily penetrate the skin, getting into the blood supply.

It’s even worse if these products are applied soon after shaving.  Tiny nicks in the skin provide an even easier route for chemicals to penetrate the skin barrier directly into the bloodstream.

A Review of Thomas Seyfried’s Cancer As a Metabolic Disease

Once in a long while, a book comes along that revolutionizes our understanding of the cancer problem. Such a book is Cancer as a Metabolic Disease (Wiley 2012) by Thomas N. Seyfried, PhD. Formerly a cancer researcher at Yale University, Seyfried is a professor of biology at Boston College and the author of more than 150 PubMed- indexed scientific articles.

With its 400-plus pages, and over 1000 scientific references, Cancer as a Metabolic Disease covers very broad territory. It attempts to explain the essential nature of primary tumors and of metastases, at the same time providing practical advice on the management and prevention of cancer. (more…)

Routine ultrasound testing not proven safe for pregnant women

It is common for a pregnant woman to undergo several routine ultrasounds during her 40-week pregnancy. What many don’t know, and despite what popular medical and government websites state, ultrasound scans have never been proven safe for pregnant women or babies and aren’t recommended for routine use and non-high risk pregnancies. How Cancer Cells Rewire Their Metabolism to Survive

Live Stronger. Live Longer.

Sanford-Burnham researchers discover that tumors lacking the protein PKCz are good at surviving when nutrients are scarce-opening a new therapeutic avenue that targets cancer metabolism

LA JOLLA, Calif., January 31, 2013 – Cancer cells need food to survive and grow. They’re very good at getting it, too, even when nutrients are scarce. Many scientists have tried killing cancer cells by taking away their favorite food, a sugar called glucose. Unfortunately, this treatment approach not only fails to work, it backfires-glucose-starved tumors actually get more aggressive. In a study published January 31 in the journal Cell, researchers at Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute discovered that a protein called PKCζ is responsible for this paradox. The research suggests that glucose depletion therapies might work against tumors as long as the cancer cells are producing PKCζ. (more…)

,Multiple Sclerosis: Environmental Factors and Treatments – Part 2

Introduction
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic disabling disease of the central nervous system (CNS) that affects approximately 400,000 people in the US. MS is characterized by relapsing and remitting neurological dysfunction associated with acute episodes of inflammation. Last month featured Part 1 of this two-part update on multiple sclerosis. Part 1 explored common and uncommon etiologies, including genetics, smoking, latitude, vitamin D, viruses, hormones, solvents, heavy metals, stress, celiac disease, and air pollution. Treatments related to these etiologies include smoking cessation, stress management, vitamin D supplementation, dietary changes, hormone therapy, detoxification, and chelation. Many people with MS utilize conventional drug therapies and explore integrative modalities as well. Surveys suggest that up to 70% of people with MS have tried one or more alternative medicine, or integrative medicine, treatments to help control their MS symptoms.1 In addition to treatments already discussed in Part 1, several other etiologies and integrative therapies for MS will be reviewed. New Study Shows Deception of Whole Grain Food Labels

Barley, spelt, millet, and quinoa are just a few examples of healthier whole grains. However, the food industry is inconsistently classifying foods as “whole grain” and, in many cases, misleading consumers according to a new study by Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) researchers.

One of the most widely used industry standards, the Whole Grain Stamp, actually identifies grain products that are higher in both sugars and calories than products without the Stamp. The researchers urge adoption of a consistent, evidence-based standard for labeling whole grain foods to help consumers and organizations make healthy choices. This is the first study to empirically evaluate the healthfulness of whole grain foods based on five commonly used industry and government definitions. (more…)
