Colloidal Silver (CS) – More Information

A Brief Overview

Prior to the use of penicillin and sulfa drugs during World War II, Medicine’s most commonly utilized infection fighter was Colloidal Silver (a solution of extremely fine particles of pure silver suspended in water). A powerful germicidal, silver is an exceptional metal in that it is non-toxic to the human body, but lethal to over 650 types of bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, and molds. Conventional pharmaceutical antibiotics are typically effective against only 6 or 7 types of bacteria and are useless against viruses. (more…)

Scientists: Garlic Fights Common Illness Better than Antibiotics

Scientists at Washington State University are now confirming once again what natural health experts have known for years — garlic fights one of the most common food-borne illnesses much more effectively than antibiotics. Garlic has built a strong reputation in fighting infections, a benefit that is but one of many.

Campylobacter bacterium, the name for the common bacteria that often results in intestinal illness, affects around 2.4 million Americans per year and is often treated with illness-linked antibiotics, but maybe not anymore. (more…)

Antibiotics fuel obesity by creating microbe upheavals

We aren’t single individuals, but colonies of trillions. Our bodies, and our guts in particular, are home to vast swarms of bacteria and other microbes. This “microbiota” helps us to harvest energy from our food by breaking down the complex molecules that our own cells cannot cope with. They build vitamins that we cannot manufacture. They ‘talk to’ our immune system to ensure that it develops correctly, and they prevent invasions from other more harmful microbes. They’re our partners in life.

What happens when we kill them? (more…)

Before Antibiotics Ever Existed, Sunlight Was Used To Treat Diseases With Great Success

April McCarthy, Prevent Disease
Waking Times

Sunlight: Without it there would be almost no life. It’s key factor involved in photosynthesis, a process vital for many living beings on Earth. Considering the lengths we go to protect ourselves from the sun, it’s a wonder that the incidence of disease is not higher than it already is. Before the advent of toxic drugs and antibiotics, sunlight was being used to treat everything from tuberculosis, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, acne, cancer, sleep disorders and overcoming worldwide sanitation problems including the purification of water. The Most Potent B Vitamin That Combats Infections Better Than Antibiotics Ever Could

The Nicotinamide form of vitamin B3 is one of the most potent of blood B vitamins, absorbing four times more into the blood than any other vitamin. Cedars-Sinai researchers have discovered that the vitamin has the potential to provide a powerful weapon to fight superbugs and antibiotic-resistant staph infections that health experts see as a threat to public health.

B3 is one of 8 B vitamins. It is also known as niacin (nicotinic acid) and has 2 other forms, niacinamide (nicotinamide) and inositol hexanicotinate, which have different effects from niacin. (more…)

The last antibiotic: Drug companies run out of weapons against the very same superbugs they helped create

The age of antibiotics is over. It’s history. There are no more patented chemical antibiotics in the pipeline. The drug companies have all but abandoned antibiotics research, leaving humanity to suffer the fate of a wave of drug-resistant bacteria — superbugs — that the drug companies actually helped create.

The industry is down to one last-ditch chemical: colistin, a toxic bug-killing chemical discovered in 1949. It kills superbugs, but it also causes kidney damage. So if you’re infected with a superbug in a hospital, you can choose to either die from an infection, or die from the cure.

…There’s a lot of that going on in medicine these days, it seems…

Nearly all antibiotics are now obsolete (more…)

HOW ANTIBIOTICS DESTROY YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM

Your immune system is constantly on a seek-and-destroy mission status – on the lookout for foreign invaders, naturally occurring cell defects and mutant cells. The immune system has a vast capacity to remember bad guys and deploy tactics that worked in the past to annihilate the enemy. Some of the fastest growing cells in the human body are immune cells. 36 Natural Alternatives for Infection

36 Natural Alternatives for Infection

Most people have issues with bacterial or viral infections from time to time. Unnecessary antibiotics ARE dangerous! Antibiotics damage the integrity of the microbial balance in the gut. The healthy gut microflora is 70-80% of the immune system. Impaired immune systems are less effective at healing the body.

Plant products have historically been consumed and utilized for their anti-microbial and health boosting benefits. Many plant materials are being researched for their therapeutic value for our immune health.

Here are 36 natural substances which have been studied to help to support our body’s immune system to heal itself! (more…)

Coconut Oil Offers Hope for Antibiotic-Resistant Germs

Image of bacteriaby Brian and Marianita Shilhavy

I haven’t had a cold in over 5 years. Just when I feel as though I’m coming down with something, the scratchy, sore throat symptoms….gone the next morning! I also used to get these little blisters on the bottom of my right foot. Someone told me they are some sort of herpes virus. Since using the coconut oil I don’t get these annoying little things. Usually they would surface in the summer or when the weather turned warm. But I realized this fall that I hadn’t been bothered this past summer. I believe that the coconut oil really helps ward off the virus. I also have hepatitis C and my viral counts are so low that they are almost in the undetected category. I don’t even worry about this anymore. Nancy (more…)

Wild Oregano – King of Herbs

When it comes to medicinal herbs wild oregano is king. Oregano has been used for its medicinal values for thousands of years. The name oregano is derived from the Greek word meaning “joy of the mountains.”

Oregano is a member of the mint family. Wild oregano is not the same as the one found in the grocery store. Often times you’ll only find marjoram, oregano’s calmer, sweeter fraternal twin. Oregano is zesty, peppery and lemony. Marjoram is delicate and floral. Of the 60 plus species of oregano, or oregano-like plants, relatively few actually possess significant medicinal powers. To be medicinal, oregano must be wild mountain-grown. Medicinal grade oregano grows wild throughout the world but is best known in the Mediterranean and North America. The plant grows in remote mountainous regions free of pollution. Only the leaves of the flowering plant are used. They are picked precisely when the plant is highest in essential oil. Being wild, it is grown chemical-free. (more…)
