What No One Is Saying About Zonulin — Is Celiac About More Than Genes and Gluten?

In my last gluten post, I discussed why the ex vivo results of Dr. Fasano’s 2006 study cannot logically be construed to show that gluten causes leaky gut in people without celiac disease, and why the available evidence suggests that people considered to have non-celiac gluten sensitivity do not have leaky gut. Heart Attacks, Autism, Retroviruses and Radiation: The Gut is in the News Again

The gut is beginning to give up its secrets. Trillions of bacteria live in the large intestine, and it’s well known that many of them help us digest food and make certain vitamins. But as precise technologies allow us to sequence the DNA and RNA of our gut flora, as well as inhabitants of the gut not previously known, new insights are rapidly emerging into the power of gut flora to influence health. (See the June 2011 FOCUS). Herein, an update on some fascinating new links between gut flora and health. (more…)

COLLOIDAL SILVER FOR CANDIDA

Loveallnatural from Kansas City, Mo writes: “My Dad has had a yeast rash for over 50 years. It is mostly on his back and each summer it would cover his back and itch like crazy. HOW SYSTEMIC ENZYMES WORK TO CURE DISEASES

Aging appears to begin between the ages of 27 and 35 when the production of enzymes that dissolve protein begins to diminish. Enzymes are widely recognized for their importance in digesting food. They also break up circulating immune complexes in the blood. Enzymes can act to prevent too much fibrin from being deposited in wounds, fractures and joints. These enzymes also remove necrotic debris and excess fibrin from the blood stream. Immune system regulation can also be accomplished with enzymes. Most of the development of systemic enzyme therapy was carried out in the Far East and Europe. Enzyme therapy is a prime example of a situation in which US medicine is missing the boat due to a lack o of awareness of what the rest of the world is doing and our unwillingness to use therapies not made by “big pharma.” Enzymes can not be patented so they are of little interest to drug companies. It should come as no surprise that Diflucon (fluconazole) has been found to cause birth defects. Probably the most commonly prescribed drug for yeast infections has been on the market for over 22 years. Yet, though it contains an element that is known to cause birth defects, the FDA has taken all that time to figure out how dangerous it is. (more…)

Caprylic acid is a medium chain fatty acid that is not toxic to humans; in fact it can be broken down and used to make energy if needed. This same fatty acid is extremely damaging to nasty gangs of Candida and bacteria, making it a safe way to help boost your immune response. (more…)
