Expectant mom alert: C-sections may cause babies to develop allergies

No one would suggest a pregnant woman forgo a Caesarian section, commonly called a C-section, if that kind of surgical birth is needed to save the life of mom and/or baby. However, C-sections are too often performed for other reasons — even because the surgical procedure allows women, and doctors, to fit a birth into a specific schedule.

In fact, statistics (reported in the New England Journal of Medicine) show the C-section delivery rate is the U.S. is over 30 percent — double the number of C-sections performed in other parts of the world. And the National Institutes of Health (NIH) estimates that 2.5 percent of all the surgical C-sections in the U.S. are done on demand, not because they are medically necessary. Often, C-sections are performed because the mom fears pain or just because it makes childbirth supposedly more convenient. (more…)

Flu shots during pregnancy lead to 4,250 percent increase in fetal deaths

For years, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has maintained that the combined influenza vaccine, which was first administered during the 2009 H1N1 pandemic flu season, is perfectly safe and actually encouraged for pregnant women. But a new study published in the journal Human and Environmental Toxicology (HET) reveals that, following the mass administration of the untested dual vaccine, which contains the mercury-based preservative Thimerosal, miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women who received it skyrocketed by an astounding 4,250 percent. BPA is deadly to the developing brains of babies in utero, new study shows

Scientists from Duke University in North Carolina have identified yet another major threat to human health posed by the plastics chemical bisphenol-A (BPA). According to new research, babies exposed to BPA in utero, or during their developmental stages in the womb, could experience inhibited central nervous system development, which in turn could set them up for future stricken with neurodevelopmental problems.

Because it mimics the actions of estrogen, BPA is already known to interfere with the body’s endocrine system, causing a host of potential problems ranging from behavioral and weight abnormalities to reproductive and immune disorders. And while awareness of BPA’s dangers is on the rise all across the globe, there is still a minimal understanding as to how BPA exerts these negative effects, including how the chemical interferes with proper nervous system development. Study Finds that the Average Child Is Now Chronically Sick

What hope is there for the future when the average child is sick? We’re going to find out, because that’s today’s reality—thanks to the vaccines of rapacious pharmaceutical corporations that couldn’t care less.

Many of us have known, simply because of observation, that children are no longer healthy. Now, a scientific study documents what we’re seeing. The average child is now sick, chronically ill. It doesn’t bode well for the future of the United States, and is almost certainly true of other developed nations. (more…)

The Most Harmful Medical Intervention Is Done to All of Us

The first medical intervention in everyone’s life is clamping the cord, and it’s doing immense harm. Babies who would have survived are dying. People are suffering permanent damage, including brain damage, as a result. Please, join the campaign to end this travesty!

The single most harmful intervention of modern medicine is also the most common, because it’s done to virtually every person born in a hospital, and most born outside it. It deprives us of critical oxygen, iron, and stem cells required for the first burst of independent life. The intervention is assuredly resulting in both higher infant mortality, lower intelligence, and greater debility. The intervention is umbilical cord clamping. (more…)

Medical evidence shows that pregnant mothers exposed to mercury in vaccines are more likely to have children with ADHD

The truth is finally starting to come out, at least in a roundabout way, concerning the dangers of mercury exposure during pregnancy, including mercury exposure resulting from vaccinations. New research published in the journal Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine reveals that even low-level mercury exposure during pregnancy can cause children to develop attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and other similar hyperactive and behavioral conditions. Flame retardants linked to neurodevelopmental delays in children

Prenatal and childhood exposure to flame retardant compounds are linked to poorer attention, fine motor coordination and IQ in school-aged children, a finding by researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, that adds to growing health concerns over a chemical prevalent in U.S. households.

The new study, to be published in the Nov. 15 issue of the journal Environmental Health Perspectives, focuses on PBDEs, or polybrominated diphenyl ethers, a class of persistent, endocrine-disrupting compounds widely found in foam furniture, electronics, carpets, upholstery and other consumer products. The chemicals easily leach out into the environment and are inhaled or ingested through dust, then accumulate in human fat cells. (more…)

7 Crazy Things Pesticides Are Doing to Your Body

 Leah Zerbe, Rodale’s

Waking Times

Agrochemicals, home bug sprays, and lawn treatments could be causing chronic illness in your family.

Pesticides are designed to kill, although the mode of action they use to put the stranglehold on pests varies. Whether it’s nerve gas–like neurological disruption, the unbalancing of key hormones, or the stunting of a plant’s ability to absorb life-sustaining trace minerals from the soil, none of the chemical interventions seems all that appetizing, especially considering that chemical residues routinely wind up on and even inside of the food we eat everyday. Pesticides are also blamed for diminishing mineral levels in foods. (more…)

BPA Damages Chromosomes, Disrupts Egg Development

By Dr. Mercola

When a woman experiences a miscarriage or has a baby born with a birth defect like Down Syndrome, the cause is usually a mystery. Modern medicine simply does not have an explanation in most cases, although there are some clues coming in.
