Like Your Coffee? Check Out the Protective Effects of Caffeine

Caffeine

You’ve heard the good and bad about coffee—Dr. Williams gives you the real scoop.
Coffee has been with us a long time. The energizing effect of wild coffee was first used in Ethiopia more than a thousand years ago. The earliest evidence of coffee cultivation was in the 15th century in Yemen. Apparently Sufi monks liked it. The Arabian Peninsula is a very hot desert. Perhaps the Sufis figured out that drinking coffee did more than wake them up—it also granted protection from the sun. Now, scientists are picking up the thread: caffeine has anticancer effects.

Caffeine Protects Against Sun Damage and Cancer

Caffeine in your sunscreen? You’ve likely been putting it on for several years and didn’t know it. Scientists worked out how caffeine protects against certain types of skin cancers, which has already lead to better sunscreens.

Professor of Pharmacy Allan Conney at Rutgers University found that the specific anticancer molecular mechanism involves a gene called ATR (Ataxia telangiectasia and Rad3-related), which is suppressed by caffeine molecules. Apparently, dampening ATR activity promotes apoptosis, or the death of DNA-damaged cells. These findings may lead to new ways of preventing skin cancer. (more…)

The Sun Is Heating Up And It’s Time To Ignore Every Single Message You Hear About Slathering On Sunscreen

The idea that sunscreen prevents cancer is a falsity promoted by a profit-seeking tag-team effort between the cancer industry and the sunscreen industry. How convenient an oversight by these demonizers of the sun that people closest to the equator have the lowest incidence of skin cancer, but you’ll never hear that message on your local news. Instead, as the summer approaches the media bombards us daily with myths that blocking the sun’s rays from reaching our skin will somehow protect us from the one thing it actually prevents–cancer.

Blocking the sun’s rays from reaching our skin dramatically influences our optimal vitamin D levels, leading to higher mortality, critical illness and mental health disorders. Ironically, sunscreen itself causes cancer.

Study: Many Sunscreens May Be Accelerating Cancer

Almost half of the 500 most popular sunscreen products may actually increase the speed at which malignant cells develop and spread skin cancer because they contain vitamin A or its derivatives, according to an evaluation of those products released today.

AOL News also has learned through documents and interviews that the Food and Drug Administration has known of the potential danger for as long as a decade without alerting the public, which the FDA denies.

The study was released with Memorial Day weekend approaching. Store shelves throughout the country are already crammed with tubes, jars, bottles and spray cans of sunscreen.

The white goop, creams and ointments might prevent sunburn. But don’t count on them to keep the ultraviolet light from destroying your skin cells and causing tumors and lesions, according to researchers at Environmental Working Group.

In their annual report to consumers on sunscreen, they say that only 39 of the 500 products they examined were considered safe and effective to use.

The report cites these problems with bogus sun protection factor (SPF) numbers:

  • The use of the hormone-disrupting chemical oxybenzone, which penetrates the skin and enters the bloodstream.
  • Overstated claims about performance.
  • The lack of needed regulations and oversight by the Food and Drug Administration. (more…)

Indian black salve: The magical cancer cure

What if we told you there exists a blend of herbs so powerful, effective, and safe for treating cancer that no other conventional treatment even comes close? And what if we told you this same herbal formula only targets malignant cells while leaving healthy cells and other tissue alone? The formula in question actually does exist, and it is traditionally known as Indian black salve, a “magical” cancer cure of sorts that also safely treats viruses and many other health conditions without causing harmful side effects.

If you have never heard of Indian black salve, it is probably because the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not recognize it as an official cancer treatment. In fact, most medical authorities who have heard of Indian black salve reject it as any type of medical treatment because it is made from all-natural herbs that are not patented or owned by corporations, which automatically means they “do not work” in the eyes of the medical-industrial complex (even though they actually do work).

Transdermal Breast Cancer Treatments

Natural Allopathic Medicine

image

Natural Allopathic Medicine has a potent protocol for breast cancer. I am almost finished with Surviving Breast Cancer and feel compelled to share an important chapter. The Natural Allopathic protocol shines in terms of breast care because so much of its delivery system is transdermal. There are many non-toxic medicinals that can be applied transdermally to the breasts to help them recover from cancer and any other breast disease. Because the breasts are exposed and covered with an ample expanse of skin they are directly accessible in terms of intensive topical/transdermal cancer treatments with safe effective medicines, something that is virtually unknown to contemporary oncologists.

Breast cancer confronts women with the deepest issues of vulnerability and womanhood. There is no cure for breast cancer from the orthodox oncology point of view. “This is the road map for how we might cure breast cancer in the future,” said Dr. Matthew Ellis of Washington University. The New York Times published a piece about a new study that was, according to Ellis, “fundamentally reshaping the scientific understanding of breast cancer.” So far they have not understood or cured this disease that kills 35,000 American women each and every year.

Researchers and patient advocates are still cautioning that it will take years to translate recent insights into transformative new treatments. Women fortunately do not have to wait till they lose their breasts and then their lives for a breast cancer cure. There is a cure for breast cancer if one is willing to bring together an understanding of the body, breasts, toxins, emotional feelings, issues of womanhood including sexuality and nutrition that come together to create the condition of breast cancer. Unneeded Skin Lesion Removals in 90% of Melanoma Patients

Dr. Mercola reports that doctors unnecessarily remove 90% of lesions in people diagnosed with melanoma, the deadly form of skin cancer. First do no harm?

A new report in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology1 claims that 90 percent of melanoma patients may not only have had their skin lesions removed unnecessarily, but may also have actually increased their morbidity risk by doing so.

The study looked at 300,215 melanoma excision cases that occurred over 10 years at participating clinics and dermatopathology units in 13 countries. (more…)

Bioactive Compound From The Maackia Tree Stalls Melanoma

An international team of scientists led by Gary Goldberg, PhD, of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-School of Osteopathic Medicine (UMDNJ-SOM), has found that a protein from the seeds of a plant used for centuries in traditional medicines may be able to halt the spread of melanoma, a lethal form of skin cancer.

On average, melanoma kills one person nearly every hour in the USA, and many more in other countries. The American Cancer Society, with its usual breathtaking lies, claims the overall 5-year survival rate for melanoma is 91%. For localized melanoma, the 5-year survival rate is 98%. (more…)

Medical Advice Is Just Wrong

Medical advise says to avoid sun, fats and red meat, but to drink lots of water, eat polyunsaturated vegetable oils and focus on the grain-rich bottom of the food pyramid. The medical advice is simply wrong and is not supported by the biomedical literature. A recent article in a major medical journal claims that about 90% of medical advice is not based on clinical research studies, but rather represents the opinions of experts who are supported by the health industry. Most research is conducted to support products. Unfortunately the advice that comes from medical societies is not healthy.

Here I will provide a few examples to illustrate that medical advice is frequently, if not usually, wrong about diet, nutrition, cause of disease, appropriate drug use and whether to spend a few unprotected moments basking in sunshine.
