Olive oil, that golden elixir from the Mediterranean, has long been known to confer many health benefits such as preventing heart disease and colon cancer. It is one reason why people who eat the Mediterranean diet live such long, healthy and happy lives.Several recent studies has found that olive oil is highly effective against HER-2 breast cancer, a form of breast cancer for which the medical establishment offers little in the way of tolerable treatment.
Phenols from extra virgin olive oil inhibit HER-2 breast cancer activity (more…)
The necessity of Iodine isn’t exclusive to the thyroid, the entire body needs it. You might say that your body requires iodine the way a car requires oil — it’s simply necessary for the entire system to function properly. Many people don’t realize that female breast tissue has a greater concentration of iodine and has a special need for iodine. When breast tissue has low iodine levels, health problems can follow. Let’s take a look at the top six things you need to know regarding iodine and its impact on breast health. (more…)
Bisphenol A (BPA) is a chemical found in most plastics, cans, and other types of food and drink packaging as well as money, receipts and newer kinds of dental resins. It is a known endocrine disruptor that hijacks normal hormone function – it is often called a gender-bending substance for its estrogen-inducing effects on lab mice.
As we edge closer towards Breast Cancer Awareness month, one cause that most likely won’t be marketed to us is that of women taking back control of their health by consuming more cancer-fighting foods. In years past, Smith & Wesson’s pink hand gun and KFC’s “buckets for the cure,” have made the list of approved ‘pink’ products, but nowhere does one find fund-raisers and races for better access to and consumption of the extensive list of foods that increasingly science has vetted as actually preventing and/or killing breast cancer.
All the more reason why a new meta-analysis on flaxseed and breast cancer published in the journal Integrative Cancer Therapy this month is so timely. The review was no small undertaking, as it obtained its findings by sorting through 1,892 records from a variety of biomedical databases, including MEDLINE, Embase, the Cochrane Library, and AMED from inception to January 2013, concerning any available human interventional or observational data pertaining to flax and breast cancer. When a study showed that antibiotics are associated with breast cancer, the authors did another study that appears to be an attempt to disprove their earlier results. Other studies that claim to find no association are deeply flawed. Clearly, the goals are not to find the truth or improve health. Evidence based medicine is based on intentionally flawed science.

Back in 2004, a study reported in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) documented a direct relationship between breast cancer and antibiotic use. After a brief flurry, the study quietly faded from the public’s—and modern medicine’s—consciousness.
This was their conclusion:
In summary, we found that increased use of antibiotics was associated with increased risk of incident and fatal breast cancer for a variety of antibiotic classes. (more…)
More than 60 million Americans have high blood pressure (high BP) including more than half (54.3%) of all Americans age 65 to 74 years old and almost three quarters (71.8%) of all American blacks in the same age group. High BP is a major risk factor for a heart attack or stroke. In fact, it is generally regarded as the most significant risk factor for a stroke.
Drugs to lower blood pressure are among the most commonly prescribed medicines in the U.S. More than 678 million blood pressure prescriptions were filled in 2010. All of the current classes of blood pressure lowering drugs possess significant side effects. A new study indicates that women taking blood pressure lowering drugs called calcium-channel blockers, like Norvasc (amlodipine) for 10 years or more had a 2.5 times higher risk of developing breast cancer than those who never took the medicine or who used other blood pressure treatments. A devastating new report commissioned by the National Cancer Institute reveals that our 40-year long ‘War on Cancer’ has been waged against a vastly misunderstood ‘enemy,’ that in many cases represented no threat to human health whatsoever.
This is an important review of one of the most amazing findings of our time — broccoli extract was found to kill the “beating heart” of cancerous tumors, the cancer stem cells that are even resistant to chemo and radiation treatment.
This video illustrates this theory of cancer biology—cancer stem cells—and the role played by sulforaphane, a phytonutrient produced by cruciferous vegetables.
Millions of women undergo them annually, but few are even remotely aware of just how many dangers they are exposing themselves to in the name of prevention, not the least of which are misdiagnosis, overdiagnosis and the promotion of breast cancer itself. (more…)
