BRCA-1 (breast cancer type 1 susceptibility protein) is an integral part of your natural breast cancer protection system. It is often interfered with by environmental toxins and pollution that look like estrogens. Approximately 10 percent of women have this inherited gene weakness. It is important to understand that no gene weakness is written in concrete. It requires a wear and tear burden of inflammatory factors to push a gene weakness into activation.
Women with a family history of breast cancer may wish to add resveratrol to their supplement program; this study indicates it is helpful in preventing the abnormal BRCA-1 gene function that is required for breast and ovarian cancer to manifest. This is a cell study, so this has not yet been proven in human use. However, it is very promising and details the precise mechanism involved with its helpful potential.
