Much of human health hinges on how well the body manufactures and uses energy. For reasons that remain unclear, cells’ ability to produce energy declines with age, prompting scientists to suspect that the steady loss of efficiency in the body’s energy supply chain is a key driver of the aging process. Researchers have zeroed in on an enzyme — found in natural foods like broccoli and cucumbers — that can slow the chronic conditions that come with age.
Scientists at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis have shown that supplementing healthy mice with a natural compound called NMN can compensate for this loss of energy production, reducing typical signs of aging such as gradual weight gain, loss of insulin sensitivity and declines in physical activity.
Trading saturated fats for added sugars and trans fats in our diet is among the worst lifestyle alterations to occur in modern history. We now know this is a recipe for obesity, heart disease, cancer and other chronic diseases.1,2
Many of these illnesses are now showing up in children, who are exposed to these ingredients even prior to birth through their mothers’ diets.
The preponderance of research shows that once you reach 18 percent of your daily calories from added sugar, there’s a 200 percent increase in metabolic harm that promotes prediabetes and diabetes.3
Fortunately, the low-fat recommendation — which flourished as a result of flawed science linking heart disease with saturated fat and the suppression of research showing sugar was to blame — is finally, albeit slowly, starting to lose its stronghold. (more…)
If you’ve listened to me for any length of time you know I consistently beat the drum that if you poison people you should only ever expect one result and that is to see a decline in health. It doesn’t matter if a “Nice Dr” (what our society calls “good”) recommends the poison or whether or not it comes from a “Specialist” it is still poison.
Morphine is no exception to this rule and it comes with a big price. Many people with Cancer end up finding themselves in a great deal of pain and it is not uncommon for a Dr to prescribe them Morphine, which results in more Cancer. Dr’s making problems worse should come as no surprise in 2016, but sadly it still surprises many.
In fact, The Nutrition Institute of America funded an independent review of “government-approved” medicine that was published in 2006. Professors Gary Null and Dorothy Smith, along with doctors Carolyn Dean, Martin Feldman and Debora Rasio titled the report “Death by Medicine.”
The Conclusion? Iatrogenic death rate in the US (death caused by doctors and/or medical treatments) is 783,936 a year. Over a decade, the scientists predict that iatrogenic deaths will total about 7.8 million and this is with a 5-20% reporting rate due to lawsuit fears meaning that the number could be 20X higher. One in three people will develop shingles (herpes zoster) during their lifetime. Effective therapy is limited. Here are 8 proven ways to prevent shingles and to ease the symptoms without drugs or vaccines.
One in three people will develop shingles (herpes zoster) during their lifetime. It occurs when latent varicella-zoster (chickenpox) virus reactivates along sensory nerves to the skin. It causes a painful, blistering skin eruption that lasts for two to four weeks. But long-term effects including chronic pain can last for several months or years and seriously impair quality of life.
Studies show that the rate of shingles is on the rise. And the cause may be the widespread use of the chickenpox vaccine. An Australian study demonstrated that as the use of chickenpox vaccine rises so does the incidence of shingles.
But shingles is a far more serious condition than chicken pox. It can also lead to neuropathy, meningitis, hearing loss, and blindness.
Here are 8 proven ways to prevent shingles and to ease the symptoms without drugs or vaccines.

Far too many are still swooned by false promises from people with initials like “Dr.” and “CEO” in front of their names.
I grew up in the 1960s, inundated by commercials for margarines made from hydrogenated vegetable oils that “promised” those margarines would keep my cholesterol levels low and protect me from heart disease. Yet in 2015, nearly 50 years later, in the face of overwhelming scientific evidence of the harm they do, especially to the circulatory system and the heart, the Food and Drug Administration announced that artificial trans fats of the very sort that made up a good percentage of those margarines were no longer “generally recognized as safe,” and food manufacturers would have three years to remove these substances from their products altogether.
