It’s been known for decades that some metals, including iron, accumulate in human tissues during aging and that toxic levels of iron have been linked to neurologic diseases, such as Parkinson’s. The fact is that all metals are toxic and the aging and diseases processes run wild without special transport and handling mechanisms to keep them from harming us. This applies just as much as essential minerals, like iron, zinc and chromium, as it does to non-essential metals and metalloids, like cadmium and arsenical compounds.
Metals can directly and indirectly damage DNA and that means an increased risk of cancer (we call this genotoxicity). There are also possibly non-genotoxic pathways, due to irritation or immuno-toxicity. (more…)

Metal toxicants entering the part of the brain that deals with stress and panic have been linked to disorders dealing with the central nervous system. Increasing evidence indicates that damage to the locus ceruleus (LC), is present in a wide range of neurodegenerative diseases including demyelinating and psychiatric disorders.
There are a growing number of Clinicians and Scientists who are convinced that excitotoxins and heavy metals play a critical role in the development of several neurological disorders, including migraines, seizures, infections, abnormal neural development, certain endocrine disorders, specific types of obesity, and especially the neurodegenerative diseases; a group of diseases which includes ALS, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and olivopontocerebellar degeneration. Dr. Julius Axelrod, pictured above, conducted some of the original research which culminated in the United States government getting a patent on all cannabinoids in 2003.
[The Julius Axelrod Papers]
Editor’s note: Welcome to Room 420, where your instructor is Mr. Ron Marczyk and your subjects are wellness, disease prevention, self actualization, and chillin’.
The United States federal government holds a “medical patent” for all cannabinoids — a patent which it has held since 2003. (more…)
Most of us know the value of CoQ10 for heart health. Now a recent case report has demonstrated that CoQ10 may be of value for reversing even extreme neurodegenerative diseases. This case report involved a 75-year-old with what is considered one of the most irreversible progressive neurodegenerative diseases known: amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Aluminum has been added to vaccines for about 90 years in the belief it spurs the body to produce disease-fighting antibodies. But aluminum is toxic, and many common vaccines, including pneumonia, tetanus, and HPV, contain large doses. The result is children are getting amounts that are much higher than those considered safe by regulatory agencies, and adults are adding to the lifetime cumulative amounts of aluminum in their bodies. These megadoses can have a devastating effect on the brain, says Newsmax Health expert Dr. Russell Blaylock, causing everything from brain damage in children to Alzheimer’s in adults. (more…)

The blockade of cholesterol is the cause of most of the reports of cognitive dysfunction but it is the CoQ10 and dolichols inhibition that has caused most of the other adverse effects of emotional and behavioral disorders and myopathies, neuropathies and atypical ALS.
A recent study of 112 high-risk men (3) did much to reveal, at least in part, the mechanism of action of statin drugs in cardiovascular disease control. The primary mechanism appears to be that of thromboxane inhibition, although much more study remains to be done. (more…)
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), otherwise known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a rare progressive neuro-degenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. This degeneration eventually leads to cell death, making it impossible for the brain to initiate and control muscle movement. As the disease advances to its later stages, it results in total paralysis. The cause of this nerve degeneration is thought to be poor nourishment of muscles. In this article we will look at how to properly nourish muscles and delay, if not reverse, the progression of this disease. (more…)
Multiple Sclerosis is a disease of the brain and spinal cord. It is called lateral sclerosis if the disease is mainly in the spinal cord. According to Hulda Clark, Ph.D.,N.D. in all MS and ALS persons, there is the presence of fluke and parasites reaching the brain or the spinal cord. The parasites are attempting to multiply in the spinal cord. (more…)
I was very pleased to receive this email from a person with ALS who wanted to share his experience with coconut oil of more than a year duration. This person gave me permission to post about this so that it may benefit others: (more…)
The March 15, 2011 issue of the American Journal of Epidemiology published the results of an analysis of over a million men and women which concluded that supplementing with vitamin E is associated with a reduction in the risk of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a progressive, fatal neurologic disease.
