Pleurotus Abalonus Protects Against Colon Cancer

Recently published research indicates that a species of mushroom—Pleurtous abalonus—may inhibit colon cancer.

An estimated 93,000 new cases of colon cancer and 40,000 new cases of rectal cancer will be diagnosed in 2015. Colon cancer affects the large intestine, while rectal cancer occurs in the last few inches of the colon. Together, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in both men and women.
