How Heavy Metals Are Promoting Aging

It’s been known for decades that some metals, including iron, accumulate in human tissues during aging and that toxic levels of iron have been linked to neurologic diseases, such as Parkinson’s. The fact is that all metals are toxic and the aging and diseases processes run wild without special transport and handling mechanisms to keep them from harming us. This applies just as much as essential minerals, like iron, zinc and chromium, as it does to non-essential metals and metalloids, like cadmium and arsenical compounds.

Metals can directly and indirectly damage DNA and that means an increased risk of cancer (we call this genotoxicity). There are also possibly non-genotoxic pathways, due to irritation or immuno-toxicity. (more…)

The following is a contributed post by Dr. Marianna Pochelli, of PreventDisease.Com.

Phytoestrogens in soy-based formulas are known to carry greater risks than benefits for infants. Babies fed soy-based formula had 13,000 to 22,0000 times more isoflavones in their blood than babies fed milk-based formula.

New data published in PLoS One shows that consumption of soy formula may also be associated with a higher rate of seizures in children.

Worried About Mercury Exposure? Arsenic May Be Worse—How to Test Your Levels

Arsenic2

Could your health symptoms be caused by a toxic blood level of arsenic?
Read on to find out how to tell.
Do you fear heavy metal toxicity? If so, you have good reason to. Public awareness campaigns and even most doctors focus on mercury as the toxic nemesis of health.

Mercury sneaks into your body from amalgam dental fillings, fish, and in Thimerosal used as a preservative in vaccines, immunoglobulin preparations, skin test antigens, antivenins, eye and nose drops, multidose injection vials, and tattoo inks. It takes up residence in body tissues including the brain and bones. High levels are associated with chronic illness including autoimmune diseases, fatigue syndromes, and neurological diseases.

But is that all there is to heavy metal poisoning? (more…)

Unfortunately, that ain’t no where near the truth. (more…)

Study: Combination tetanus, whooping cough vaccine linked to seizures in babies

If you choose to have your baby vaccinated with the combination diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough (pertussis), polio and Haemophilus influenzae type 2 vaccine, a mega-jab collectively known as the DTap-IPV-Hib, your child may be at an increased risk of having a vaccine-induced seizure. A new study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association has identified a clear link between the vaccine and the onset of fever-related seizures, which the authors claim will not cause long-term damage. Breastfeeding prevents seizures, study says

The longer a mother breastfeeds her baby, the less likely the child is to have seizures later in life, according to a recent study published in the Journal of Pediatrics.
