Statins are the most profitable medications produced by the Big Pharma Cartel.  A report from the National Center for Health Statistics claims that 50% of men age 65-74, and nearly 40% of women over the age of 75 take a statin medication.  A 2011 study found over 32 million Americans were taking a statin drug.

If that many people are prescribed a drug, one would assume that the drug is effective at treating or preventing something.

How effective are statin medications?  Not very.  This class of medications fails nearly 99% of those who take them.  I have written about the failure of statins in my book, The Statin Disaster. (more…)

Statin Scam and the Cholesterol Myth: Know the Truth

Health Impact News

Statin drugs that reduce cholesterol in the body are much more harmful than beneficial, even though they do lower cholesterol readings. There is much clinical evidence that lowering cholesterol is not only unnecessary, but it is seriously damaging to overall health.

This is worth repeating even as much as Health Impact News has covered cholesterol and statin issues in the past. Many others, even alternative health sites and practitioners, still continue to perpetuate the cholesterol myth that promotes the scam of dangerous and highly profitable statin drugs.

Statins Are the Greatest Medical Fraud of All Time: Study Reports

A new study clarifies that statins are the greatest medical fraud of all time. The claims made for them are false. Statins-FraudThe amount of harm they do is staggering, resulting in millions of lives devastated and ended. The worst part of all, though, is that it was entirely predictable—but studies were designed to hide the truth. The media, the health agencies, and the doctors all provided cover for Big Pharma. After all, there was money to be made.

by Heidi Stevenson

Statins are one of the most dangerous drugs prescribed by doctors. The risks from them were obvious before they were ever  marketed. Nonetheless, they are among the best selling drugs of all time. Finally, genuine science has been looking at their adverse effects and lack of benefit to document the truth that was obvious from the beginning:

Statins are the greatest medical fraud ever perpetrated.

A new review of the science reports:

The statin industry, with all of its spin-off(s), is a 20-billion-a-year industry. We are observing the revealing of the utmost medical tragedy of all times. It is unprecedented that the healthcare industry has inadvertently induced life-threatening nutrient deficiency in millions of otherwise healthy people.[1] (more…)

Cracking the Cholesterol Myth: How Statins Harm The Body and Mind

Cracking the Cholesterol Myth: How Statins Harm The Body and Mind

A new study finds the chemical war against cholesterol using statin drugs was justified through statistical deception and the cover up of over 300 adverse health effects documented in the biomedical literature.

Better safe than sorry, right? This is the logic that defines the grasp that the pharmaceutical company has on our psyche. Perhaps your mother, father, brother, and boyfriend have been recommended cholesterol-lowering medication, just to help hedge their bets around a possible chest-clutching demise. In fact, recent guidelines have expanded the pool of potential statin medication recipients, so that there are very few of us who seem to be walking around with acceptable levels of artery clogging sludge.

But how is it that drug companies got a foothold? How have they convinced doctors that their patients need these medications, and need them now? They are banking (literally) on the fact that you haven’t brushed up on statistics in a while.

Statin Drugs Linked to Thyroid Cancer in Women

Statin Drugs Linked to Thyroid Cancer in Women

So, you have been told to ‘lower your cholesterol’ with drugs. But could it be causing cancer?

A concerning new study published in the journal Clinical Epidemiology[i] has found that “statin use is associated with thyroid cancer in female patients.”

Researchers hypothesized that in the presence of the female dominant hormone estradiol – a form of estrogen – statins are ineffective at exhibiting their long claimed ‘cancer-protective properties.’

What Most Doctors Won’t Tell You About Cholesterol

No worries, I thought, as my parents just didn’t know enough to realize that I was reducing my risk of heart disease by avoiding cholesterol. Looking back, I’m sure that my parents were wondering how I could so easily toss away precious egg yolks that they were able afford only a few times a year when they lived in Korea.

Today, I am grateful to have a better understanding of the relationship between cholesterol and health. How about you? Are you afraid of having high cholesterol? Are you throwing away egg yolks because you think they’re bad for your health? Are you taking cholesterol-lowering medication or considering starting on one? (more…)

The Ugly Side of Statins: An Honest Look at the Research of Cholesterol-lowering Drugs

Health Impact News Editor Comments:

Lipitor, the blockbuster cholesterol-lowering statin drug produced by Pfizer, was the world’s most successful drug during the time its patent was active. Its total sales exceeded $140 billion, more than twice its nearest competitor. When its patent expired at the end of 2011, the FDA issued its first warning statements on cholesterol-lowering drugs at the beginning of 2012, which included memory loss, diabetes, and liver damage. But how many people had already suffered these effects, and many others, before the FDA issued any warnings?

Still, the class of cholesterol-lowering drugs known as statins continues to earn major revenues for drug companies today, especially among generic brands now. With almost 1 out of every 4 Americans over the age of 55 currently taking a statin drug, we may just be seeing the tip of the iceberg on how damaging these drugs have been, as they are now being linked toAlzheimer’s and other neurological diseases as well.
